Braj Dham or Braj Bhoomi or Braj is the region that includes many parts on Uttar Pradesh, mostly around Mathura and Vrindavan. It was never clearly defined as per the political territory but one can demarcate it culturally. Derived from the Sanskrit word Vraj, it is basically associated with Lord Krishna. However, the main cities included in Braj Dham are Vrindavan, Mathura, Dholpur, Agra, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Etawah, Kasganj, Etah and Firozabad. As against the popular belief that Braj region includes Vrindavan, Mathura and Govardhan alone, it comprises of Kaman Tehsil of Rajasthan, Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh and Hassanpur in Haryana. Almost 1300 villages are included in Braj.

SHRI GOVARDHAN TEMPLE
Govardhan Dham is very sacred to the Hindus and they pay their visit to this place to show their respect to Radha Ji and Lord Krishna who abounds in the Govardhan Hills. According to mythology, Lord Krishna lifted the hill (Giriraj Parvat) up to protect the villagers from flood.
SHRI NANDGAON
According to Indian beliefs, Nandgaon was the home of Lord Krishna where he lived from the age of 7 to 10 along with his Foster father Nanda Baba and mother Yashoda. His father, who was also the village chief, built his house here, atop a large hill, to protect Lord Krishna from the demons sent by King Kamsa.


BAAD GRAM-MATHURA
Baad Gram, situated in Mathura, holds significance as the birthplace of Shri Hita Harivansh Mahaprabhu Ji, the Very esteemed founder of the Radhavallabh sect.​
SHRI CHAKRESHWAR MAHADEV-GOVARDHAN

There are primarily five Mahadevas residing in Braj. In Mathura, there is Bhuteshwar Mahadev; in Vrindavan, Gopeshwar Mahadev; in Kaman (Kamyavan), Kameshwar Mahadev; in Nandgaon, Nandishwar Mahadev (Aseshwar Mahadev); and in Govardhan, Chakreshwar Mahadev


JAY KUND-JAINT

Amidst child Krishna's playful pastimes in Braj, his maternal uncle Kansa kept sending demons like Shaktasur, Pootna, Trinavarta, Vyomasura, Bakasura, etc. to eliminate him.
SHRI ANANDAM DHAM-VRINDAVAN

Shri Anandam Dham is a delightful place in Vrindavan which is established by Shri Riteshwar Ji. This is said to be the penance place of Sage Saubhari where he had cursed Garuda Ji, the divine vehicle of Lord Hari.


SHRI GARUD GOVIND TEMPLE

Shri Krishna engaged in numerous divine activities at this location, situated near Chhatikara. One day, while tending to the cows, Sri Krishna immersed Himself in playful activities with his companions, the sakhas.
GULAL KUND-GOVARDHAN
​
Gulal Kund, a site where the Holi pastime of Shri Radha Krishna unfolded, earned its name as the pond's water turned crimson from the hues of Gulal (colored powder).


SHRI LALITA BAGH-VRINDAVAN

Located in Vrindavan, Shri Lalita Bagh falls under the protective domain of the Tatiya Sthan belonging to the Shri Haridasi sect.
JAIPUR TEMPLE-VRINDAVAN

Jaipur Temple was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh Ji of Jaipur to bring happiness to his spiritual master, Brahmachari Shri Giridhari Sharan Ji.


KILOL KUND-GOVARDHAN

According to its name Kilol (to play), this Kund is the place of water sports pastimes of the divine couple Shri Radha Krishn and water sports pastimes of Krishna with his cowherd friends.
SHRINATH PRAKTYA STHAL-GOVARDHAN

Shri Govardhan is decorated with gems in the abode of Beautiful Golok. There Lord Shri Govardhanathji, Swamini Shri Radha, and the maidens of Braj perform pastimes in the caves of Govardhan.


SHRI PARMANAND DASJI'S SAMADHI-Surbhi kund, Govardhan
Shri Parmananddas Ji was the Rasik saint of Braj and was one of the astachhap (eight) poets of pushtimarg. Shri Parmanand Das Ji used to sing and do kirtan of the verses composed by him in a very melodious raga.
LALIT KUNJ-VRINDAVAN

Lalit Kunj is located in Vrindavan, which is the place of Bhajan and Samadhi of Shri Vanshi Ali Ji. Shri Vanshi Ali Ji used to serve his beloved Shri Kishori Raman Ji.


RAGHAV PANDIT'S CAVE-GOVARDHAN

In Govardhan, there is Sutalvan (forest) in front of Apsara Kund, and Sutal Kund is nearby to that place. In the vicinity of this kund is Shri Nathji temple, which is less than a hundred years old. Mani Kandali cave lies in front of Shri Nathji temple.

Surbhi cow anointed Shri Krishn with her milk, which made this Govind Kund.


GLORIES OF MADHUVAN

Madhuvan is one of the famous 12 forests of Braj. In Satyuga, Lord Hari killed a demon named Madhu here. Because of this, He became known as Madhusudan.

Soor Kuti is an important, historical, and spiritual place. This is the place where the famous devotee, the great poet, Shri Surdas ji performed bhajans and received initiation from Vallabhacharya ji.
BAHULAVAN KUND

There is a fifth forest called Bahulavan; one who takes a bath here easily attains the abode of the fire God.

Shri Hita Mahal is a part of Hitashram Satsang Bhoomi which was established by Shri Hitdas Ji, a saint of the Radhavallabh sect in 1955.
SHRINATH JI TEMPLE-PUNCHARI, GOVARDHAN
Shrinathji's temple is located in Punchari, Govardhan. The shape of Govardhan mountain is similar to that of a peacock and Punchari is considered the tail of Govardhan.


RADHA BAVDI-VRINDAVAN

Shri Radha Bavdi is also called Shri Bhagwat Rasik Dev Ji's Bavdi. Bavdi means stepwell. The great saint of the tradition of Swami Haridas Ji, Shri Bhagwat Rasikdev Ji has stayed here and worshiped Shri Radha Krishn.
SHRI RADHA TILA-VRINDAVAN

Shri Radha Tila is the bhajan site of Shri Banke Biharidas Ji, a Rasik devotee of the Haridasi sect. 250 years ago, Shri Banke Biharidas Ji, who used to reside in Vrindavan, performed bhajan on a mound here.


SINDURI SHILA-GOVARDHAN

Sinduri Shila is the rock where Shri Radha herself revealed the vermilion on the rock with the friction of her finger and puts it on her forehead.
NAVAL KUND & APSARA KUND-GOVARDHAN

Naval Kund was formerly known as 'Poonch Kund' due to its proximity to Poonchri village, but later it was named after the Queen of Bharatpur, Maharani Naval. By the way, this Kund belongs to Naval Krishn (ever new Krishn), so it is called Naval Kund.


SANSKARAN KUND-GOVARDHAN

Sankarshan Kund is amongst the most important heritage sites in Braj. This Kund is named after the elder brother of Lord Krishn, namely Sankarshan, who is also known as Baldau or Dauji.

HANUMAN GARHI TEMPLE-VRINDAVAN

Hanuman Garhi Temple is situated near Brahma Kund in Vrindavan. Here Shri Hanuman Ji sat and meditated on Shri Ram Ji. That's why it is called Shanti Peeth.


SHRI DEVRAHA BABA BHAJAN/SAMADHI PLACE- VRINDAVAN

Shri Devraha Baba Bhajan/Samadhi place is located at the other side of Yamuna in Vrindavan. Shri Devaraha Baba is one of the greatest yogis of India, he is the eleventh Acharya in the lineage of Jagadguru Shri Ramanujacharya.
VYOMASUR'S CAVE- KAMYAVAN
Krishna killed Vyomasur here. This cave is also referred to as Medhavi Muni's cave because Medhavi Muni worshipped Krishna here.
