Braj Dham or Braj Bhoomi or Braj is the region that includes many parts on Uttar Pradesh, mostly around Mathura and Vrindavan. It was never clearly defined as per the political territory but one can demarcate it culturally. Derived from the Sanskrit word Vraj, it is basically associated with Lord Krishna. However, the main cities included in Braj Dham are Vrindavan, Mathura, Dholpur, Agra, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Etawah, Kasganj, Etah and Firozabad. As against the popular belief that Braj region includes Vrindavan, Mathura and Govardhan alone, it comprises of Kaman Tehsil of Rajasthan, Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh and Hassanpur in Haryana. Almost 1300 villages are included in Braj.

SHRI GOVARDHAN TEMPLE
Govardhan Dham is very sacred to the Hindus and they pay their visit to this place to show their respect to Radha Ji and Lord Krishna who abounds in the Govardhan Hills. According to mythology, Lord Krishna lifted the hill (Giriraj Parvat) up to protect the villagers from flood.
SHRI NANDGAON
According to Indian beliefs, Nandgaon was the home of Lord Krishna where he lived from the age of 7 to 10 along with his Foster father Nanda Baba and mother Yashoda. His father, who was also the village chief, built his house here, atop a large hill, to protect Lord Krishna from the demons sent by King Kamsa.

Gulal Kund, a site where the Holi pastime of Shri Radha Krishna unfolded, earned its name as the pond's water turned crimson from the hues of Gulal (colored powder).

Shri Parmananddas Ji was the Rasik saint of Braj and was one of the astachhap (eight) poets of pushtimarg. Shri Parmanand Das Ji used to sing and do kirtan of the verses composed by him in a very melodious raga.
LALIT KUNJ-VRINDAVAN

Lalit Kunj is located in Vrindavan, which is the place of Bhajan and Samadhi of Shri Vanshi Ali Ji. Shri Vanshi Ali Ji used to serve his beloved Shri Kishori Raman Ji.


RAGHAV PANDIT'S CAVE-GOVARDHAN

In Govardhan, there is Sutalvan (forest) in front of Apsara Kund, and Sutal Kund is nearby to that place. In the vicinity of this kund is Shri Nathji temple, which is less than a hundred years old. Mani Kandali cave lies in front of Shri Nathji temple.

Based on this name of Shiva, city of Mathura is called Bhuteshwar. The deity of Mahadev ji is very ancient.

Potra Kunda is located at a distance of about 50 meters near Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura.
OLD VRISHBHANU TEMPLE
Shri Vrishbhanu Bagh is located at Barsana almost 500 meters from Shri Radharani temple, Barsana. Sri Vrishabhanu Bagh is considered to be the garden of Shri Vrishabhanu, the father of Shri Radharani. It has changed over time, but this place is the same.

Keshi ghat (series of steps leading down to a water body) is named after the pastime of Lord Krishna killing the demon Keshi.

Pavana means purifying and Sarovar means a lake. Thus, it’s believed that one who takes bath in Pavana Sarovar is relieved from all his sins. It is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna would bring his cows while returning from pastures in the evening.

It has been said that after the departure of Shri Krishn, Uddhav Ji was restless and came to this place. Here Uddhav Ji being absorbed in Krishn's love, used to sing and chant the glories of Radha Krishna. The place is near to Kusum Sarovar and on the back side of Kusum Sarovar School.
RANGEELI MAHAL-BARSANA

Rangeeli Mahal was founded in 1996 under the Guidance of Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj in Barsana. The stunning grounds have beautifully landscaped gardens, waterfalls, depictions of Radha Krisha leela, amongst other things.


SHRI KAUSHAL BIHARI TEMPLE-BARSANA

King from Rajasthan who was very much devoted to Shri Barsana Dham made this temple. He decided to build the temple dedicated to Shri Laadli Laal.
UCHA GAON-LALITA SAKHI'S VILLAGE
​
Uncha Gaon (village) is situated one mile west of Barsana, is the village of Shri Lalita Sakhi. Here divine pastimes of Shri Priya priytam took place. Lalita Sakhi Mandir, the birth place of Shri Lalita Sakhi is situated here. The temple of Shri Lalita Sakhi is situated on top of the stairs.


MUKHARAI VILLAGE

This village has been named after Radharani’s maternal grandmother Mukhara, who lived at this place and thus the village achieved its name of Mukharai. It is said that Mukhara used to take great transcendental pleasure in arranging secret meetings between Radha and Krishna
BHOJAN THALI
​
Bhojan Thali is located at Kamvyavan, Braj. It is very special place in Parikrama where Shri Krishn used to ate with his sakha friends. The small hillock on which Krishna sat, transformed a part of it into a hollow round shape so that it could be used as thaali( plate) by Krishna for having food.


GANTHULI GRAM

While playing Holi, Radha and Krishna were seated on a singhasana (throne). The sakhis took the opportunity to secretly tie the divine couple's cloth together. When Radha and Krishn stood, They found Their cloth was tied together and felt little shy as all the sakhis smiled in great fun.
SHYAM & RADHA KUND
​
These two divine Kundas, Radha-Kunda and Shyam-Kunda in Goverdhan Vrindavan, which are surrounded by beautiful forests and which enchant the sages and demigods. After visiting the other forests of Vrindavan, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came here and sat under this tamala tree.


KRISHNA KUND

This pond, which is surrounded by dense banyan trees, provides a concealed setting for various pastimes of the Divine Couple Shri Radha Krishn. It lies in the southern part of Javata.
LUK LUK KUND
​
The Luk-Luk Kund is situated in Kamvya Van, where the Shri Krishna hid and later manifested on the mount, playing the mellifluous flute. Shri Krishna, his beloved Shri Radha and the Braj Gopikas are forever engrossed in some amusing escapades.


KAMARA VAN
​
Once, Shri Krishna was beside Himself with the desire to meet with Shri Radha and restlessly gazed down the path along which She would appear. Finally, He called Her name on His flute.
SHANI DEVA TEMPLE
​
Nearby "Kokila van" (The forest of cuckoo's) in Braj, Shanideva resides there. A glimpse of yours is very divine godliness. According to "Brahmavavarta puran" (scripture), you're always absorbed in the meditation of lord Krishn. You had your own principle not to look at anyone ever.


NAVA GRAMA
The pastime place of Nava-grama lies south-west of Radha-Kunda, Goverdhan. Its present name is Kunjera. This is the boundary of the Kunjas of Radha Kunda. Nava-grama is called Kunjera because of the kunjas within it
RAJ GHAT

This is the place at Vrindavan, where Krishna disguised Himself as a boatman, in order to take the gopis across the Yamuna River in His boat. Krishna covered Himself with a large cloak so that the gopis could not recognize Him


MADAN TER
​
In a beautiful garden located at this place, Shri Krishna was once enjoying pastimes with Radharani and Gopis when it is said that Kamadeva (Cupid), who is also known as Madana, arrived there with the intention of firing his arrow of attraction at Krishna.
GUNJANA VANA
​
Gunjan Van is very near to Bhusanavana. The word ‘bhushana’ means ‘ornaments’. Gunjan van is a place where Radharani and the gopis decorated Krishna with ornaments and garlands made from gunja flowers (Gunjan berries).


SURYA KUND
​
Surya Kond: The pond lies to the south of Krishn kund, on the right-hand side of the highway in Nandgaon. Here, Surya Deva, the Sungod, became restless after having darshana of Shri Krishn’s exquisite threefold- bending form and forgot to move for some time.
PAIGON
​
Once Lalita Sakhi offered a bowl of milk in the hand of Shyamsundar because she knew if she offers it to Radharani then Radharani will give it to Shyam sunder, to drink first. That's why she offered it to Shyamsundar first so that he will offer first to Radharani to drink.


VILAS GARH
​
Vilas Garh is situated above the sankri khor( the so-called narrow sacred way) in Barsana. From the name 'Vilas' it's understood that the pastime of divine luxuriance has been performed here.
FAMOUS ALLEYS OF VRINDAVAN
​
Just near the famous Seva-kunja in Vrindavan are four narrow galees, or alleys: 1) Daana-galee 2) Maana-galee 3) Gumaana-galee 4)Kunja-galee.


RUDRA KUND
​
Rudra-Kunda is situated in Goverdhan Parikrama in Braj and is also called Rudana-Kunda. Tears are the purest form of devotion. Here Lord Shiva became so absorbed in meditation on Radha Krishn’s pastimes that he began to cry (rudana karnaa) continuously
PADAR VAN
​
Padar Van or Padar khandi is located in Barsana and its pastime is like this: once Shyamsundar came to this place and was singing the song, meanwhile numbers of peacocks came listening to Shyamsundar.


KOKILA VAN
​
Once Shri Krishna was excited to meet Radhika, but due to the problem created by her mother in law Jatila, sister-in-law Kutila and husband Abhimanyu, He was not able to visit that place. After waiting for few hours Shri Krishna climb to tree and just like a bird (cuckoo)
KISHOR VAN
​
Shri Yugal Kishor or Kishor Van is situated in Vyas Ghera near Sewa Kunj. Shri Hariram Vyas who is considered as a descension of Vishaka Sakhi, Braj Rasik of Vrindavan resided here. His bhajan kutir and samadhi mandir is also located here.


JHADU MANDAL

The pastime connected with this place of famous Srila Jiva Goswami and Shyamananda. Jiva Goswami gave Shyamananda the service of sweeping this ancient place of Radha Krishn's pastimes.
SHRI VALLABHACHARYA JI
​
There was one Vaishnav named Prabhu Das Jaloá¹a. One day He went to Radha Kund. At that time, Mahaprabhu Shri Vallabhacharya was also there with the devotees. When he came near him, Mahaprabhu said give him prasad too.


PEELI POKAR
​
Peeli pokhar (yellowish pond) is located in Barsana, also called as Priya Kund. Shree jee (Radha Rani) was often visiting here. This is Shree jee's pond. One divine pastime is concerned with this, swami Haridas has sung in this regard.
GANDHESHWARI
​
Gandh means fragrance and ishwari means Goddess. Gandheshwari name is for Radha Rani.


CHARAN KUND
​
Shri Shyam Sundar and Shri Shri Radha Rani, embodying the essence of Shringar Ras, once unexpectedly graced this spot with their divine presence. They playfully splashed water from the kund with their feet and engaged in joyous games.
